An Explanation

So I’m a few posts into my blog, its about time that I told you a little bit about me.
So … where to start?!.. The beginning I suppose.

I was born in the 1980’s in a time where being pregnant whilst unmarried was still a stigma, especially if you were 18.
Like my mother a lot of aspiring professionals found themselves ‘with child’ after mistaking love as a Martini and a slow dance to George’s Careless Whisper complete with 80’s poodle perm.

I was a classic 80’s child, I however lived in a house owned by my Grandparents which allowed Mum to continue in her profession and provide myself and her with a stable arrangement so we could one day move into our own place and flourish.

As that day neared my mother came home with a ‘friend’ for me to vet and within a year they had become a firm fixture in my mother’s life, regardless of my 5 year old pleas for her to find a better ‘friend’ I was forced to call him Dad, and pretend that I liked him.

I have always been a bit of a tom boy, a baulshy, loud, opinionated, controversial, misguided and definately misunderstood.

I tried to be the girly girl, wearing pink, being nice,
I have been through the rebel stage, done the piercings, the tattoos, the cutting.
The manic depressive, the health freak, the druggie, the possessive person.

I have since come out the other side, married a fantastic man who is my rock, he has his own stories which keeps me grounded when problems on my side rear their heads.

Now after half a decade together we are now trying to expand our family, we are trying for a baby, I have some medical problems which hamper my chances from conceiving naturally but we will get there, and this is all part of my journey. A journey which I am glad to have you along on!
